Sorry, Adium doesn't support this. Maybe they will do it in the future, if so I'll make an animation for it.

I am thinking of updating with new colors and maby new away. I'll look into it more and I need to update them for leopard to.

If you go to "/home/library/application support/adium/dock icons" and right-click on the Monitor.AdiumIcon (or any other verson) and shoose "show package contents" then backup and edit "IconPack.plist" (can be done in textedit or property list editor), look for "Alert" and change Delay (0.10000000000000001) to a higher number of your choice.
