DescriptionIt's an acronym replacement script aimilar to those seen on irc, replaces lol with Laughing Out Loud, etc. It's NOT censored, so sensitive people should sit out. So wtf becomes exactly what wtf means. # by Reikon on 09/08/04 at 00:41:01Yeah, I would, but like he said, Adium doesn't have a AppleScript Library that allows it to do so, therefore I just borrowed the idea from an IRCop Script a friend of mine wrote for mIRC. If only I could figure out how to get it to return color 0.0
# by on 09/08/04 at 03:27:53so let me get this straight, after first reading the description of this script, i thought cool, i can read those weird acronymns as real text!!!!, but now i know it is just something to let people you're talking to know what your saying, kind of, but not completly useless.
# by Reikon on 09/10/04 at 00:41:12Kind of...It's basically just a port of an mIRC script feature...
# by Anonymous on 09/10/04 at 04:03:54So, something that makes you seem a bit more intelligent? I won't use it, but I like it.
# by crash on 09/28/04 at 04:36:25the only thing is that he didnt put a space before and after the words so if you say something like www.bowlingforsoup.com it would show up as www.bowlingirlfriendorsoup.com just a note for the next release...
# by Reikon on 09/28/04 at 14:22:28yeah i thought heavily about that, however decided against it the first time because how many people while typing just lol (as a filler) put a space before or after it? but i'll do that :)
# by Reikon on 10/04/04 at 13:21:37Go to:
~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Scripts/ find Anym.AdiumScripts and delete it. # by on 11/24/04 at 00:05:30About the "gobble"="goBe Back Latere" thing, and the issue of people typing "lol" and not " lol" or "lol " or even " lol ", can it not be coded so that if 'lol" has a letter strictly adjacent to it then it will not turn into Laughing Out Loud? So that "lol" will be "Laughing Out Loud" but "alol" or "lola" would not be turned into "aLaughing Out Loud" or "Laughing Out Louda"? That way only 'lol' typos would be the only unintentional message types... etc.
# by Reikon on 11/24/04 at 03:18:00I'm not sure, however if you like, I can make it to where a space is required before both. :) I'd be happy to do so.
# by ! on 12/13/04 at 05:59:12Does this work like gaim's text replacement feature? like turn "u" into you and "thru" into "through" etc? If that is the case its useful.
# by Reikon on 12/13/04 at 15:44:19Similar, but not. lol It replaces acronyms like "lol" and "brb" with their meaning.
# by ! on 12/13/04 at 22:49:16Well, can you customize it? like add your own replacements and remove the standard ones? in that case it would be much more useful
# by google636 on 10/10/05 at 17:49:13I wish it would be easier to edit it, but heck, it's more fun to mess with the plist!
# by tonhe on 10/24/08 at 01:20:14I added a section to the Info.plist but it dosen't seem to be taking the changes even after a restart of Aidium -- Anyway you could be more clear on what needs to be done to add your own ?
# by tonhe on 10/24/08 at 01:40:33I should also mention that I modified one of the apple scripts in the Resources directory, following the same format..
this is what i have added to Info.plist File i Keyword i Title I Prefix Only and i.scpt was edited with the apple script editor and contains on substitute() return "I" end substitute Post a New CommentYou must be logged in to post comments. |
