Description

It's an acronym replacement script aimilar to those seen on irc, replaces lol with Laughing Out Loud, etc. It's NOT censored, so sensitive people should sit out. So wtf becomes exactly what wtf means. Enjoy!

i would like it if it would reformat incomeing text instead of out going, cuz people dont get why im not talking normaly, and there's just shows up the same

Yeah, I would, but like he said, Adium doesn't have a AppleScript Library that allows it to do so, therefore I just borrowed the idea from an IRCop Script a friend of mine wrote for mIRC. If only I could figure out how to get it to return color 0.0

so let me get this straight, after first reading the description of this script, i thought cool, i can read those weird acronymns as real text!!!!, but now i know it is just something to let people you're talking to know what your saying, kind of, but not completly useless.

the only thing is that he didnt put a space before and after the words so if you say something like www.bowlingforsoup.com it would show up as www.bowlingirlfriendorsoup.com just a note for the next release...

yeah i thought heavily about that, however decided against it the first time because how many people while typing just lol (as a filler) put a space before or after it? but i'll do that :)

Go to:

~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Scripts/

find Anym.AdiumScripts and delete it.

About the "gobble"="goBe Back Latere" thing, and the issue of people typing "lol" and not " lol" or "lol " or even " lol ", can it not be coded so that if 'lol" has a letter strictly adjacent to it then it will not turn into Laughing Out Loud? So that "lol" will be "Laughing Out Loud" but "alol" or "lola" would not be turned into "aLaughing Out Loud" or "Laughing Out Louda"? That way only 'lol' typos would be the only unintentional message types... etc.

Does this work like gaim's text replacement feature? like turn "u" into you and "thru" into "through" etc? If that is the case its useful.

Similar, but not. lol It replaces acronyms like "lol" and "brb" with their meaning.

Well, can you customize it? like add your own replacements and remove the standard ones? in that case it would be much more useful

You can edit the script and .plist file and add your own stuff.

I added a section to the Info.plist but it dosen't seem to be taking the changes even after a restart of Aidium -- Anyway you could be more clear on what needs to be done to add your own ?

I should also mention that I modified one of the apple scripts in the Resources directory, following the same format..

and i.scpt was edited with the apple script editor and contains

K, so I downloaded this, and went to delete it,
But now whenever i type "lol" or "lmao" nothing shows up. I hear the "ding" of the im being sent, but the word in question doesn't show up on the screen and the person i'm imming doesn't recieve it. Help D:
