DescriptionMake Adium blend right in with Mac OS X, Panther.ImagesCommentsYou can reply to individual comments by clicking the "Reply" link next to each. # by Lavo on 08/14/04 at 19:50:53it's good, but there needs to also be a way to hide that top bar, since the first message or two gets stuck under it when the window starts to scroll :-)
i'll use it for now even with that though..it's a job well done # by Darmot7 on 08/14/04 at 19:52:47i like it, but what about having the names by the messages being sent, just so impletons like i dont get confused.. its a good idea, just seems to be lacking somthing :)
good work tho # by joe again on 08/14/04 at 21:17:35oh, when i use another background image other than leaving it white... there is like this white outline around the colored messages
# by on 08/14/04 at 21:17:46This is just what I was looking for. Clean, simple, attractive, and by far best of all, it is non-redundant. Thanks!
# by Fonzie on 08/14/04 at 21:50:56Hi, great idea. But as another poster says, there's white areas around each corner on the messagegraphics when using another baggroundimage other than white or close to white. Can this be fixed ? I've tried doing it myself by using the Eraser in Photoshop and then save for web as a PNG but that didn't quite work.
Another request, could you make an iChat style messageview with them iChat bubbles ? Or somebody else vould do it!? # by Fonzie on 08/15/04 at 20:00:32disregard the above post by me. I figured out that the one I were replying to is asking about something that is written in the preview.
YGM=You Got Mail? # by jhonbob3 on 08/16/04 at 01:54:45I like it but i think there should be a version with all left or all right, ability to choose colors somehow and no top bar. very good work though. very useable as is.
-me # by indy_jones on 08/17/04 at 16:47:56I'd like the option to hide the topbar (perhaps look at the code in the msn message view on this site) and also, the ability to pick large or small icons becuase my list is mainly msn ppl and their pictures are larger. The picking what sides the messages are on would also be a nice addition. I really like it though, I hope you continue to develop it.
# by indy_jones on 08/19/04 at 19:56:48One more thing... Could you make it so that under the other person's screen name it showed ur own, like right justified or something?
# by on 08/20/04 at 19:28:13uh, i loooove it! it's sooo much clearer!! perfect! just what i needed. thanks!
# by duien on 08/21/04 at 18:42:18for some reason this message style wouldn't show up in the list in adium until i trashed my Message Display.plist and Webkit Message Display.plist
Don't know if they'd just gotten corrupted or if its some weird problem with the style. But I thought I'd let you know An awesome style, by the way. # by Tw1x on 08/30/04 at 21:34:20Yeah, this is a very nice message view! If only it was possible to either get rid or shrink the top bar. Metal Chat for (gasp) Proteus is very nice at doing this. Overall though, nice theme. Message Views are tough to do. :S Well done!
# by Anonymous on 09/22/04 at 04:33:46i'm having a baaad problem with lines getting cutt off and no scroll bars appearing :(
# by Nils on 10/08/04 at 18:14:25There should be an option to display names with the messages instead of the top bar; otherwise you get a lot of problems in group chat. ;)
# by on 11/01/04 at 13:30:23# by Diomedes on 11/03/04 at 03:39:16This is actually my favorite theme, but the white corners around the text boxes (with a dark bakground) are unsightly...I was hoping there would be an update to this for .7. Any chance? :-)
# by on 11/04/04 at 16:50:19Hey everybody. Just leting you know I haven't forgoten about this theme. I just haven't had time to work on it. The 0.7 first message bug will be addressed first, and then I'll try to break long words to fit in the window. The features I'd like to add are a hideable (and expandable to show large icons)top bar, a menu that lets you select a certain color bubble for a certain buddy (if adium will allow). Unfortunately I can't help that the style has white corners on dark backgrounds. It's due to the way I built the style and would require me to re-write a lot of code. It also makes it harder to specify custom colors since each color of bubble would need separate image files. Also it can't really be helped that the style doesn't look good in chatrooms since not having the name and icon by each and every bubble is kind of the style of the theme. Thanks everyone for the feedback, it's very appreciated, and as soon as I get a free moment, I'll try to address these concerns.
# by on 11/20/04 at 04:47:33A very slick and functional style... personally I'd like to see more color variants like Blue & Green, Blue & Silver, and whatever else may strike one's fancy.
Why not mimic the icon/list/column selector (from Finder) in your header and have it dynamically change the image's div's size (or the image if necessary) which would then allow per-conversation based sizes for contact icons... very handy IMHO. # by flyabusa on 03/16/06 at 20:09:52I really like the style of this theme, however there are two major detractions.
#1 the first few messages incoming from a contact are always truncated until the chat window fills top to bottom with text. I'll have to type in some filler meeage just to see the first few messages incoming from a contact. #2 in chat rooms I'm not able to determine who is saying what, other contacts all appear as the same color bubble with no screenname preceding their text # by ispytonyv on 05/23/06 at 15:52:30i don't really find the incoming text "problem" to be one at all... if you set adium to display a set number of lines from the previous conversation, the new one is always uncovered at the bottom (this also lets you know what the last topic was, which i find helpful). Also, it was very easy to create new variants for this theme (unlike some others) because they're coded VERY simply. It only took me about 2 minutes to set up an incoming green/outgoing blue version.
one feature request- the option to have a time stamp please! Very useful when you come back to messages, knowing if something was sent an hour ago or 5 minutes ago, without having to open the log viewer. Post a New CommentYou must be logged in to post comments. |
