MSN Messenger Butterfly

MSN Messenger Butterfly

Submitted By Louis Guy (thelouisguy)

Description

This dock icon is missing a few features just because I cannot think of what to use for them. All it includes is two icons. One is a flapping Butterfly for when you receive an instant message, and another for online, idle, away, and connecting. I went into MSN Messenger 7 on a crapy pc and copied their animated butterfly.

really wanted to use this for a bit but it has a nasty white boarder around it that is very visible if you have a coloured dock...could someone fix this please :D ?

I know. I just wanted to get it out. I am hoping someone who has a graphics program will take the idea and improve on it. This is the exact image that the Windows MSN uses.

who would voluntarily put a windows logo on their mac? ;)

# by sdh on 04/28/05 at 08:18:13

it is not a windows logo. it is a msn logo.

It's nice. I depise Microsoft and all their faults, but this logo is a saving grace. It looks brilliant - thanks!

the animation of the butterfly is really sweet. can it move faster?

# by thelouisguy on 05/05/05 at 16:30:05

To make it move faster, ctrl-click MSN Messenger Butterfly.AdiumIcon, click on Show Package Contents.
Open IconPack.plist with TextEdit.
Under State, Alert, Delay, you will see the number 0.09
To make it move faster, change the number to a smaller number, I recomend 0.05, but you can use whatever you want. Play around with it. Once you are finished, be sure to double-click on MSN Messenger Butterfly.AdiumIcon again to enable it.
Go to the preferences panel and select it again.
That should be it.
Glad you like it.
I did a fairly quick job with this one, I wanted to get the idea out there. If anyone really likes the idea, and has the time and resources to make a betterlooking one, by all means, be my guest to improve upon it.
I don't even use it anymore. I use another one that is not on AdiumXtras. You can find it at http://thelouisguy.com/adiumx
Enjoy!

Alright then how would you explain the fact that MSN stands for MICROSOFT NETWORK? Good one! Btw, good job making this....but WHY?!
