DescriptionSave notes, conversations, or anything that can be typed onto your iPod in seconds!Just plug in your iPod and type /notepod{title of note to create}. Once the note is created, eject and unplug your iPod. On your iPod, navigate to Extras -> Notes. Note- You have to enable disk mode in iTunes for this to work. Known problems The new conversation log format (introduced in Adium 1.x) won't be parsed when saved to the iPod. ChangesVersion 2- Allows you to save conversations.Version 3- Cleaned up HTML conversations. Version 3.1- Added tell application "Adium" for dialogs and chaged error to return so that you will actually see the error. # by me again on 01/24/05 at 18:58:01i took a risk and tried it with my ipod mini, but all that happened was "No iPod is connected to this computer."
# by karabunga on 01/26/05 at 09:55:06It didn't work with my 3G ipod. it brings up the window, but the message is not there, its blank. So i clicked cancel and another window popped up with nothing in it. I couldn't close it, so I had to do a force quit and lost the conversation.
Does it only work with 4G ipods? # by ihaveabellybutton on 01/27/05 at 22:45:33Maybe... I don't have any other ipods, so I wouldn't know.
# by perbjarkov on 01/29/05 at 18:33:34Yes Brian, you are wrong!
The iPod mini can display notes! :) # by on 02/12/05 at 19:28:41this is a really cool idea. My only problem is I can't figure out how to save Adium conversations from the Log viewer. Is there another way to do it?
# by ihaveabellybutton on 02/17/05 at 02:45:07Go to userfolder/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Users/Default/Logs i don't know if html will show up on an iPod though.
# by twopeak on 03/14/05 at 11:00:25it would be cool if the script would parse the conversation and make it iPod-readable and save it.
This way you could get all the important information of your conversation to your iPod! it's a nice idea! # by twopeak on 03/14/05 at 11:04:05it would be cool if the script would parse the conversation and make it iPod-readable and save it.
This way you could get all the important information of your conversation to your iPod! Sadly it doesn't work for me and my iPod (not the last generation, but the one just before that) and an SVN adium. it's a nice idea! # by on 03/15/05 at 05:52:47ok i tried it out.. works great. i type in /notepad{note title, content}. i can't figure out how to add conversations. i knwo where to find the actual log files in the application support/adium folder. do i type in /notepad{user log, username}?
# by ihaveabellybutton on 03/15/05 at 22:13:07Sorry for the confusion here are the two ways you can do it:
1. /notepod{note title, blank} (if you want to write your own note 2. /notepod{note title, conversation} (if you want to use a conversation) # by ihaveabellybutton on 03/18/05 at 15:54:07I changed it so that you only have to type /notepod{note title} then it will ask you what type.
# by ihaveabellybutton on 03/19/05 at 00:59:30If you click one of the buttons and nothing happens, make sure your ipod is plugged in.
# by qkslvr on 06/12/05 at 13:12:50Just tried it out... Only problem I get is that when I go to read it on my iPod, I get all the technical garble, i.e. "10:57:09 AM etc... Any way to fix this?
