The folder in the zip file is missing an .AdiumStatusIcons extension.

Be warned, this plugin will log your SMTP password to Console.app a lot.

I'm probably the only person to have noticed this, but this emoticonset doesn't completely work on case-sensitive filesystems. The Emoticons.plists says: "Thumbs down.png", "Wink Tongue Out.png" and "Thumbs up", while the files are "Thumbs Down.png", "Thumbs Up.png" and "Wink Tongue out.png". Not a mayor issue - I fixed it for myself, but I thought I'd report it ^^
