See the animations in action : http://drp.ly/zhe8D

NOTE: you need safari 4 for the custom scrollbars and animations to work

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 1.7 USERS: Due to the magnitude of the code changes, you should restart adium, toggle between adiumychat and any other messagestyle and then toggle between the variants in adiumychat to clear any cache adium might have kept

# by amaan on 03/14/10 at 06:00:00

I love this style. fits perfectly.

one small problem is that i cant seem to use a custom background with it. is it just me?

# by pritthish on 03/14/10 at 06:00:00

no, there is no support for custom backgrounds yet. I'm looking for an elegant way to implement it

# by amaan on 03/14/10 at 06:00:00

# by pritthish on 03/19/10 at 02:07:37

# by arnie on 03/17/10 at 00:43:38

Tthis is amazing..the elegance in this style is amazing.... my favourite is how crisp the bubbles are, and the scroll... simply jaw dropping!

I really can't wait to see the window message style mod. I've been waiting for someone to do this. How soon do you think you'll release your beta 2? thanks.

# by pritthish on 03/17/10 at 00:46:28

cheers!

the window mod might be a while though, i got my end of term in like a week, its crunch time!

Good Luck with your exams :p

# by ny_bosco on 03/17/10 at 22:36:36

# by ny_bosco on 03/17/10 at 22:41:21

well i tried to reboot Adium and it's workinf fine now!! great work!! it's my favourite

# by pritthish on 03/24/10 at 04:17:26

cheers mate!

# by soypunk on 03/26/10 at 21:12:31

The styling or something for /me (emote) commands appears to be missing... what I get is:

%username%%message%

basically, there's no spacing between the two values. Also most themes tend to style the /me style commands a little differently so that would be nice... but hardly required. I can point to a screenshot if this description doesn't make sense. If prodded I could turn on the web inspector and look at the markup I'm seeing as well...

# by pritthish on 04/03/10 at 08:48:53

yes please, can you see how its being output? coz i dont really see why it should and shouldn't work :S

# by soypunk on 04/05/10 at 18:51:49

I'm unsure how adiumxtras formats HTML in the comments, so I've sent an example to your gmail.

Absolutely love this! Thank you :D fits perfectly with anything n_n

# by pritthish on 04/13/10 at 19:44:35

cheers :D

# by Soul on 04/14/10 at 11:06:19

Great style. Only problem is that in a conference chat it doesn't show the names of the people who have sent messages, so you can't work out who said what.....

# by pritthish on 04/15/10 at 16:48:06

yeah, this isnt really meant for group chats :S see, it mimics the functionality of ichat... but yeah, im gonna look into an elegant solution now dw :)

# by pritthish on 04/16/10 at 22:58:31

added an option to do it :D look out for it in the next version :D

# by kalibannez on 04/27/10 at 01:36:56

If serious, it's perspective and technically theme.
But it's don't look good. Just look this: http://bobjr.deviantart.com/art/Milk...y-161962136
It's theme following the best traditions of AdiumyChat and adding realy Cool graphics and style!

# by pritthish on 04/27/10 at 01:42:59

its called stealing...

# by kalibannez on 04/27/10 at 08:32:58

Not, it's just progress. It's more good theme that it, but, possible, bassed for it.

# by pritthish on 04/27/10 at 11:59:16

again bob, i DENIED you permission to use my theme as a base for yours, yet you went on ahead with it anyway...

THAT, my friend, is stealing...

# by DmitryVoronov on 05/12/10 at 02:00:41

This is one of the best style i ever saw.
i am recommending to anyone who likes APPLE taste at you messaging
THANK for CREATOR!!!...

# by aragost on 05/24/10 at 18:48:28

1.8 looks great! Thanks again :D

# by arnie on 05/24/10 at 23:05:06

you really need to fix the bubble not showing up. sure the chat looks perfectly normal for the one receiving your messages. But it doesn't look good on my chat. lol.

I have tested with all my fiends list, and no bubbles at all. Is there a way to revert back to 1.7?

# by pritthish on 05/24/10 at 23:07:35

have you tried restarting adium, toggling between another messagestyle and then togging between variants? also, do you have javascript enabled?

# by arnie on 05/24/10 at 23:10:25

it's all good now. Stellar job by the way. I keep track on you on DA. keep up the amazing work.

# by arnie on 05/24/10 at 23:08:30

nevermind. i got it fixed by changing the variant of the bubbles. it works. Thanks. 1.8 feels slim. ;)

# by dewgy on 05/26/10 at 08:23:22

I definitely like the tweaks, it looks much smoother and the bubbles are much more vibrant. One question though: When is the iChat style message input box going to be implemented? It's pretty much the only thing missing now, and I can't wait. My text hates hugging the bottom of the screen so much. Thanks for the good work! :)

# by pritthish on 05/26/10 at 11:50:13

the message window mod (iDium) is not mine. however, it is still some time until its released [dont worry, you'll know when it is ;) ]

# by brianxburns on 06/06/10 at 00:14:11

At first I was skeptical about this theme. It seemed like just another bubble theme. Then I tried it and wow. I think I'll use this for the rest of my life!

# by rob-to86 on 06/22/10 at 03:42:13

Hi Prittish, could you perhaps add a version number to the bundle? :)

# by pritthish on 10/17/10 at 23:05:07

version number as in?

# by rob-to86 on 10/17/10 at 23:18:51

Hi, I think I've found the issue. So since http://trac.adium.im/ticket/11285, 1.5hg's Xtras Manager displays versions. But for AdiumyChat (and others) it does not.

i believe that's because it includes the name of the style in the CFBundleGetInfoString key (e.g. "AdiumyChat 1.9" instead of "1.9").

# by ronald_poi on 09/12/10 at 19:32:53

I really like this style. It's the best bubble there is. So great! But there is an issue, though. I don't really like/care about the scroll. To me, default OS controllers should remain. But that's not the main issue. The thing is that the new scroll doesn't start so good. When opening a new chat window, the scroll is already on place, scrolling some blank space, and that blank space has a bigger height than the window. The first message written or received goes way up, in a scrolled view (it shouldn't be scrolled, there's just one line!).

# by pritthish on 09/12/10 at 20:26:08

yes, it is a known issue. i've been struggling with the scroll since version 1.2
the only method that scrolls properly makes the window lag so much that it freezes up after 700 or so messages. until i manage to find a new scrolling script, you're just gonna have to deal with it or try another style :)

cheers

# by ronald_poi on 09/12/10 at 21:33:27

I know what you mean, I also have similar situations when web developing. Its good to know you already know about it and care about performance too, and not just presentation. Thanks for replying. I'll be using your theme anyway! :)

# by pritthish on 10/17/10 at 23:04:38

Well, it should be a bit more responsive with this update. i havn't solved it, but i reduced the overhead significantly :)

# by ronald_poi on 10/19/10 at 08:22:16

Hey, its true!... Looks a lot better and performs faster. Great update mate. Thanks!

# by d3l1r1um on 04/14/11 at 08:42:13

are you sure this is scroll-related? i noticed that the issue (with the scroll showing up even though there shouldn't be anything to scroll, because there are only a few messages) only occurs when the header is displayed. no header, no weird scroll bar on open.

just a data point, i don't know enough javascript or adium styles to figure out what exactly is going on. thanks for the gorgeous style!

# by pritthish on 04/14/11 at 12:00:11

yeah it was scroll related. I've managed to fix it in my newer messagestyles, i just need to get the time to rewrite this one :)

# by d3l1r1um on 04/14/11 at 13:18:36

Thanks for the reply and the awesome work. Will be checking back for that update :)
