Are you talking about the connected, friend log on, etc. sounds, or the back and forth between the message sent/recieved?
As for the meta data, the orginal file was 11 seconds long and for some reason the sound editor (Audacity) I was using didn't properly remake the meta data. Seemed to work for all my other files though. :-/ Also, if anyone comes across a good sent/recieved sound while watching the matrix, let me know! The only 'good' ones I could find were the numbers and a gunshot.... but they kinda suck for Adium usage. I'm really planning to remake this set. Thanks! # by BlueRevolution on 10/17/04 at 16:14:51I mean when I have a quote set up for contact signed in or something, I really get sick of it because I hear it so much. I think it would be better using matrix sound effects, like phone ringing, the gunshot, the shell clinking after neo gets shot, numbers, whoa, morpheus saying "blue pill" and "red pill" for sent/received, etc. that's assuming of course that you can get your hands on the clips :)
# by crackit on 10/18/04 at 14:42:56Maybe too long, because if somebody writes very quick, the sounds don't play till end. I hope you'll get it much shorter! ;) I love Matrix too and I'm happy, that somebody made the sounds for Adium! Thanks!

Works as a solid compliment to the nice, short, and crisp "Matrix" (ported by "codename") and "Matrix for Adium" (ported by 'factoryjoe') soundsets. The two ports are both from the excellent PixelHauset (AIFF format) Matrix sound set, and virtually identical to one another. Either of those two sets could compliment this set very nicely as one, full custom Adium sound set...
# by MetalHaze on 05/06/05 at 05:40:13The sound editor I use is shareware but you can save files and it never makes you to stop using it and pay for it. If you don't mind a couple nag screens try using Cacophony. It has a great feature set.
Also, for the message sent/received I would think about using small little sounds like the noise it makes when they clip in the plugs into the backs of their heads before they go into the matrix. I had a matrix soundset once for some other chat client and it had those types of subtle sounds and it was a great sound set. The sounds are def too long. Try to keep is short, simple, and effective. That is the best way to make these sound sets. Post a New CommentYou must be logged in to post comments. |
