Super awesome! For the alert state you might want to use 3 or 4 frames of tree on fire rather than flashing back and forth with the normal state, just for the sake of smoothness. Oh, and you're right... it does look gooder in the dock :)

Very creative. I really like it!
One suggestion though, when it is asleep, make the ground white like snow because that is when trees lose their leaves.
