Edges need anti-aliasing. I also agree with BlackandWhitePenguin above re: actually having the star change color rather than have the colored status ball in the upper left hand corner.

My apologies—I didn't realize that you had another Xtra that DID change colors. It might help to actually include that as a variant, or at least link it from your description above.

Aliasing is the fancy-schmancy word for the "jaggies" that come with pixelated art. So, whatever illustration app you're using—Photoshop and other Adobe products should do it automatically—there's often an option to turn it on.
