DescriptionTransparency abound, Eclipse can stand in front of anything. It's fun, subtle, beautiful, utterly kick-ass, and any other adjective you want it to be.Now with more variants and cleaner code. # by on 07/02/04 at 17:41:54if you have any ideas for other variations, msg dzhim (dzhim) and raffy (nsraffy) in aim.
# by platoaddict on 07/18/04 at 03:15:32Love the theme. Any chance a later version will have the ability to include a small image of buddy icons?
# by DJ_FoX_MaC_ClouD on 07/25/04 at 09:49:08This is my favorite message view style, it would be cool if you add buddy icon in it?
thanks # by Anonymous on 07/26/04 at 05:44:56It looks nice but are the fonts hard coded? I change the font in the preferences and it doesn't look different.
I wanted to try the paper version with the typewriter font # by on 08/27/04 at 03:39:47the fonts are hard coded because adium has that odd bug where it makes some messages use the default font and others use helvetica.
# by on 08/29/04 at 17:15:42Great update. Works even more smoothly on my crusty old iBook. :) Thanks!
# by chris on 08/31/04 at 23:13:47amazing! the best message view i've seen so far (the rest look way to much like they were made by some 13-year-old who just learned html/css)!
i even made my a pink(you)/blue(them)/green(status) variant of it for my girlfriend. the only thing i can complain about is that i don't think the status updates are separated/stand out enough, color-wise, from normal chat. overall - spectacular. # by on 10/24/04 at 23:42:29I love this style. Really really love it. I just wish there were some way to get buddy icons, either in the Sharp style (next to the last message in either block) or as a hideable header at the top of the window. Tried to add it myself, but I really suck at CSS. =)
Still, great job. I'll keep using it. # by joey yayo on 01/31/05 at 03:29:27ya would love to see a header on the theme with the user pic in it...then i would switch from big icons...this is beautiful though
# by scum on 02/21/05 at 23:56:25it is an awesome theme, i totally agree with everybody, but i liked the original default background for frost & smoke better than this new one.. ; ) but as i said, awesome job, mister rodovich..
# by scum on 02/21/05 at 23:59:18gah, my mistake.. if only i looked before i typed more often the world would be a better place. the orig pic's still there, just not default for smoke. thanks dzhim for an awesome message style!
# by on 05/04/05 at 05:55:52Anyone else find a problem with either the Foam Gray or Foam Blue in Adium .8 and the font colors? For some reason, both of those make my font black (but the other person's is still white). It's frustrating because I can't read the black on my background. Grr.
Thoughts or suggestions? # by on 05/05/05 at 08:19:29it's beautiful, but i've had a problem where occasionally, the last character of a name drops to a second line. What happens is that my name 'jesse' looks like this:
'jess e' it's REALLY annoying. otherwise, this would be my main theme. # by scum on 05/06/05 at 19:16:46very pretty, but i must say it's too big for my liking. with everything just a bit smaller it looks much better, though it makes me wish you could have borderless chat windows in adium...
# by on 05/11/05 at 11:29:30I have the same problem... the last character of the "alias" drops to the second line. I've noticed this only happens with the "alias" and not with "alias (user name)".
Great message view style. # by dzhim on 05/12/05 at 04:21:55I've noticed that text wrapping problem a few times since upgrading Adium, but I'd also just gone mucking about in some of the CSS, so I didn't realize it was a real issue. I'll take another look and try to figure out what changed and how to get around it (I'm pretty sure that wasn't an issue in 0.7x).
# by GAZ8 on 05/13/05 at 00:50:26Yeah, I mentioned the wrapping problem in the Adium Bugs forum a couple days ago. I'm positive it's a new development in 0.8x, it only happens with Alias [only] name display, doesn't happen if it's an auto-reply from that user, and only happens from isolated, particular users. I tried removing that user's alias and then re-adding it, thinking maybe something got corrupted since it seemed arbitrary that it would happen with a particular alias, but to no avail. It happens with both the new, bundled message view and with the one downloaded from here. So odd. Great message style, though. Thanks for the great work, dzhim!
# by GAZ8 on 06/26/05 at 22:36:54I don't have enough such contacts to test this, but I could swear that this only happens with aliases ending with the letter 'a'....
# by slyydrr on 06/11/06 at 20:01:34I absolutely love this message theme. I've switched back and forth between quite a few, but this one is just perfect. 5 ducks!
# by Rice on 07/18/06 at 15:04:30Eclipse's font changing pref is broken in Adium 1.0 Beta5 and lower betas.
Please fix. # by Dachaz on 12/09/06 at 23:40:07Loved this style in "old" Adium. Switching to beta pulled all the issues mentioned here: last letter dropping when using Alias and hardcoded fonts (making them a tad bit too small for the distance I'm sitting at).
The fonts did act trippy in the old version, but after a couple of setting them back to normal they stayed that way, so I guess hardcoding shouldn't be an ultimatum, but rather an option... or something ;) # by jpfeffer on 03/11/07 at 22:16:23i am having the same problem with the last letter of a buddy's username dropping to the next line - is there an easy fix for this?
# by HeadCrab007 on 06/15/07 at 18:17:46Excellent! This is my all time favorite. lots of options, i like that.
5 Ducks! # by westcoast021 on 06/07/08 at 11:14:22very nice! i enjoy how you can put nearly any background behind frost or smoke in particular, and it'll work...just wondering if there's a way to make the headers stay all the way to the left, instead of the slightly tabbed-in look that they currently have?
