TextAdium: 'Reflections SRI' Integration Set |

DescriptionAlways on search for the ultimate in desktop minimalism, I was glad to discover styrizo's 'Reflections SRI' icon set via deviantART. As can be seen in the screenshot, the set contains (among other more iconic folder and application symbols) elegant text-based icons for many major programs and system apps. Trying to maintain a visual flow between subtle wallpapers and eye-catching icons was always problematic for me, and this set solved all my woes in one fell swoop. Why, there was even an Adium icon!...one Adium icon, that is. Simply an .app icon, with no accompanying set for various states. Expanding on Viana's brilliantly minimalist ideal, I decided to make a fully-featured Adium iconset! Since people who use Adium regularly are online by default, I wanted a base state that wouldn't contrast with the other Reflections icons, but would still make your status easily understandable. Hence, the Connected/Available state is black, while the default/offline state is a translucent grey - one that is notable and reminds you that you're not connected but doesn't detract from the visual continuity. The connecting state is animated and fades between this light grey and the full black, pulsing subtly. The Away state is a nice, matching red, and on Alert status the icon animates - fading between the full black and red states - as well as flashing the user's name a la normal functionality. i made a white version aaaages ago... same style # by krickonaut on 08/21/09 at 06:53:25It has the same style of font, but the text is located towards the bottom and not the center. So it looks a little off when paired with the rest of the text icons.
