Current Temperature

Current Temperature

Submitted By Brandon Delcamp (xpander)

Description

Displays the current temperature of the given zipcode. Usage is %_getTemp{ZipCode}

For some reason, it only likes to do fahrenheit, but I'll try to fix it.

:Update: Fixed a bug that would prevent it from working. Bleh. Had it sitting around but forgot to upload it.

Hey, great idea!

Could you perhaps make it use the airport codes ? Or make it international ? I'm in Denmark and i'm not sure my zipcode will work with this. Thank you.

Yah! I second the request to make it international! I'm from Singapore. Thank you.

for some reason im not getting any tempurature at all, is it effected by my router? because it seems that it doesn't work in my profile

# by Bosk on 06/26/04 at 17:55:05

how often does this update?

# by iamdw on 06/28/04 at 04:10:20

also does not appear to work for me... ; also behind a router.

# by on 06/28/04 at 14:15:03

Doesn't work for me either, also behind a router.

# by on 06/29/04 at 18:34:00

Me 3, doesn't work, and fancy that - behind a router as well

# by on 07/01/04 at 05:52:10

Didn't work for me until I modified the script.

(Take out the stupid Fahrenheit check if it's useless)

# by Berg on 07/06/04 at 00:06:45

seems super slow and don't work for me... behind router

# by on 07/07/04 at 19:58:57

It seems to crash Adium for me. I have it in my profile along with some other scripts (iTunes, countdown, current app), and when it's on, it will crash Adium unpredictably and slow it down. How fast DOES it update?

# by Jeff on 07/23/04 at 04:17:01

This plugin is awesome, but it freezes Adium for about 4 minutes every few minutes, which I assume is it updating. Can something be done about this? It is really nice. Perhaps a different SOAP server?

# by bngbrgr on 08/21/04 at 19:56:05

Crashes my Adium, too! :(

# by on 08/23/04 at 22:39:25

works for me but is super slow :(

# by on 09/01/04 at 17:04:02

Great idea, i guess i'll have to wait to work international, but i like it

# by amos on 09/05/04 at 02:55:38

yea, i don't like the huge pause in it. please fix that if possible.

the other thing is that if it can't retrieve the temperature, it gives a warning message. it would be better if it said something like "79 degrees (error updating)"
that is, the temp was included in the warning somehow

# by evands on 10/27/04 at 06:35:23

The pause should be gone as of Adium 0.70.

# by Legolas on 01/15/05 at 16:42:43

For me it gives me -999 F no matter what I put in.

# by on 01/17/05 at 18:01:14

"For me it gives me -999 F no matter what I put in."

same here

# by on 01/17/05 at 23:43:17

This is broken. Looks like the weather site changed its settings again.

# by xpander on 01/24/05 at 15:05:33

works off and on for me, I checked all the SOAP settings and it's all correct. Seems to be a server side issue. I'll post an update if I can get it working, but so far it seems to be out of my hands. If someone can find a more reliable server, please let me know.
