Description

A simple and well-rounded message style, with support for custom backgrounds and transparency.

This is an updated version of Glow, containing only the dark variants. For the light variants, check out Glow Light.

There’s a minor problem with the message style preview mechanism in the Adium preferences window — the lower corners of the message bubbles fail to refresh properly while changing variants. To force Adium to refresh them, simply choose the new variant a second time, or close and reopen the preferences window.

  • Split the message style in half.
  • Added support for custom backgrounds and transparency.
  • Added more color variants — currently includes Blue vs Green, Blue vs Grey, Blue vs Red, Green vs Blue, Green vs Grey, Green vs Red, Grey vs Blue, Grey vs Green, Grey vs Grey, Grey vs Red, Red vs Blue, Red vs Green, Red vs Grey.
  • Fixed a spacing issue — the first message bubble in a message window containing less than a whole windowful of messages would have no padding underneath.
  • Fixed a font size issue — changing the font size to anything more than 10 pixels would break the layout.

any possibility of adding user icons in a variant, preferably alternating, and also a header? Otherwise, great work

How do you get it to be transparent? I don't see any opacity meter under the color wheel. This is really a nice looking xtra.

i really like this... but i am having one problem. when someone's status changes and it is longer than one line, the bubble that contains it breaks up. i'm not sure if it is my formatting or something else...

I've been using this message theme for awhile, and I have problems with the status changes too. When someone on my buddylist goes away, it says they've returned. Or it does not show when someone has connected back again. Or when someone returns from idle, it says they've gone idle.

I figured out the problem, it had to do with my internet connection rather than the message style.

This message theme is great, but the one problem I have is with some people I talk to, their text is black, making it hard for me to see what they're typing. Is there a way for me to change the color of their text without asking them to do it on their end?

I'm not crazy about this, I really prefer the light version.
