bungalowboz, if it is shown in the personal info, then your picture has been changed. If not, the problem comes not from Synergizer. Sorry for not helping too much.

You should enter %_synergizer trigger in any part of your display name, saiajin, so your display pic may be refreshed periodicaly.

Have you never used Adium's default script triggers like %_artist and %_track? Short Artist works like those. Part of the name of the artist where you type %_shortartist, just as simple (and useless) as that.
